These are the original runes of SCTF for Quake1. There are 63 runes, each with 2 powers. Most if not all of these powers will be ported into HL-SCTF. The main difference will be that HalfLife models will be used for the rune entities, morphing powers, instead of Quake1 models. For the DMC port the original Quake1 weapons will be used. For the HL port the new Halflife weapons will be used. All runes, models, and powers are server side, so no client download is required. The text for these descriptions was taken from the open source release of Q1 SCTF v7.0. For more information about the Quake implementation of SCTF, visit www.sctf.net
RUNE_EARTH_MAGIC
Earth Magic (Original Set)
First Power (Resistance): From the powers of the earth, you are resistant
and take 1/2 damage than usual.
Second Power (Firepower): You have one of the earth's most strongest
force, fire!! Just swing your axe and you'll get a row of flames!
RUNE_BLACK_MAGIC
Black Magic (Original Set)
First Power (Strength): This is hell for enemies, you can
do 2 times the damage to them!
Second Power (Flying Power): This is definately magic, you can now
move like water, and float up!
RUNE_HELL_MAGIC
Hell Magic (Original Set)
First Power (Haste): Create hell for your enemies by shooting at them!!
You will be able to fire two times faster (hint: use rockets ! :)
Second Power (Ammo Regeneration): This rune will regenerate your ammo
for you, for shells to cells
RUNE_ELDER_MAGIC
Elder Magic (Original Set)
First Power (Regeneration): When you have this rune, you can regenerate
your health by 5 up to 150!!
Second Power (Vampirism): This rune will make you act like a vampire!!
When you damage an enemy, you get their damage added to your health! If
you hit a teammate, you heal them!
RUNE_TELEPORT
Teleport Rune (Misc Set)
First Power (Teleport weapon): Use your axe and a Teleporter will come
out! This can do a lot of damage to an enemy.
Second Power (Teleport Power): Swing your axe to save your location
then swing it again to go to that location, this is very powerful if you
know how to use it!
RUNE_FUTURE Future
Rune (Misc Set)
First Power (JetPack): Use your axe and you'll go flying in the direction
your pointing at, this is good to get out of tough situations.
Second Power (Laser Gun): Use your shotgun and you'll shoot UNLIMITED
lasers
RUNE_ARMOR Power
of Armor (Misc Set)
First Power (Armor Regeneration): You start regenerating armor, and
you automatically have red armor.
Second Power (Super Armor): You have magic armor that won't take your
own damage, meaning that you can't really kill yourself
RUNE_STRONG Strong
Magic (Misc Set)
First Power (Jumping): Guess what, you're able to jump twice as high
and swim to the surface of a liquid two times the normal speed!
Second Power (ForceField): You are currently protected by a small forcefield
that will damage an enemy nearby
RUNE_LIQUID Liquid
Rune (Misc Set)
First Power (Liquid Aid): Go into the water, and you start healing
yourself!
Second Power (Bubbler): Fire shotgun and an extra bubble will accompany
your projectile to add more damage.
RUNE_DISAPEAR
Disapearance Rune (Misc Set)
First Power (Small-Flame): You're not quite invisible, but you are
one little flame.
Second Power (Weapon Invisibility): Every projectile you shoot is invisible
RUN_FOOLISH Foolish Rune (Confused Set)
First Power (Flying Dumpster): You can Fly! Swing your axe to fire
explosive corprolites out of your butt.
Second Power (Dead Man Walking): You look bad! Dead, in fact. But you
can still crawl around and fire your weapons. Great for camping.
RUNE_MIB Men In
Black Rune (Misc Set)
First Power (Noisy Cricket): The shotgun is your noisy cricket. Each
shot causes a huge outburst of energy, inflicting splash damage on people
near the explosion
Second Power (Pulsar Blaster): The shotgun is this powerful weapon
that compresses energy to cause a huge amount of damage
RUNE_WHITE_MAGIC
White Magic (Medieval Set)
First Power (Mirror Damage): People are damaged for shooting you. They
take 1/2 the damage they give to you as if it was reflected on to them.
Second Power (Regeneration-Radius): You can now heal yourself up to
150 points. And you heal team mates in a small radius to 100 points.
RUNE_WIZARD Wizard
Magic (Medieval Set)
First Power (Fireball Teleport): This magic fireball will switch places
with the person you hit. If your close, you will telefrag them. Uses Axe.
Second Power (Weapons): Your magic skills regenerate ammo for weapons
you pick up.
RUNE_WITCH Witch
Magic (Medieval Set)
First Power (Curse): You curse someone by randomly turning them into
a dog! All they can do is bark or bite for 10 seconds. Be careful, this
can back fire on you!
Second Power (Protector): A yellow shield surrounds you, and flings
people out of your way.
RUNE_KNIGHT Knight
(Medieval Set)
First power (Flag Power): Knights are dependant on their leaders The
flag is your leader, so the closer you are the stronger and more resistant
you get!
Second Power (Rebel Knight): The closer you are to the enemy flag,
The more Strong and Resistant you get.
RUNE_LUCK Luck
(Supernatural Set)
First Power (Good Luck): You have good luck and automatically pick-up
everything that is near you, ammo, weapons, armor, etc...
Second Power (Bad Luck): Gives everyone near you bad luck. They
start bouncing up & down, shooting at the same time...bad luck for
them!
RUNE_GHOST Ghost
(Supernatural Set)
First Power (Ghost-Weapon): Makes your weapon the only thing visible,
But you take 50% more damage!
Second Power (Clone): Swing your axe to leave a clone where you stand.
The clone will explode when someone steps within a certain radius. (2 Clones
Max)
RUNE_ILLUSION
Illusion (Supernatural Set)
First Power (Huge Monster): To everyone else, you look like this
VERY BIG monster walking around You can confuse people with this.
Second Power (Monster Rockets): Yay!! You get free rockets. All your
rockets are HUGE MONSTERS. Use your axe to fire your rockets.
RUNE_ZEUS Zeus
(Myth Set)
First Power (Lightning Bolt): Zeus was the god of all gods, and can
cast a lightning bolt with every weapon he uses now.
Second Power (Shield): Zeus's shield can stop projectiles 50% of the
time. Some people might even kill themselfs trying to get rockets inside
of your shield!
RUNE_POSEIDON
Poseidon (Myth Set)
First Power (Trident): You are given a trident (lightning gun) with
unlimited ammo! You regenerate in liquids, but take 1/5 the damage! Works
in water too :)
Second Power (Drown): When you shoot an enemy it will turn them into
a fish by random, and fish drown when they're out of water.
RUNE_MARS Mars
(Supernatural Set)
First Power (Strength): Since Mars (Aries) was the god of war, he can
do 4 times the damage! but takes 2 times since once he got hurt during
battle, he chickened out.
Second Power (Firenemy Curse): You damage someone and you may curse
them, which means they will start jumping out of control.
RUNE_HERMES Hermes
(Myth Set)
First Power (Flight): Hermes was a messenger, with the power of flight
he can travel at great speeds
Second Power (Trickiness): Hermes can disappear into the shadows. But
when he shoots, people can see him. It's only for a few seconds, so hide
well.
RUNE_HADES Hades
(Myth Set)
First Power (Cap of invisibility): You are completely invisible except
when you shoot, which vibrates the cap enough off your head to make you
visible for a couple seconds
Second Power (Death): You are now like Death. You randomly make someone
take double damage for 8 seconds by attacking them! :)
RUNE_ARTEMIS Artemis
(Myth Set)
First Power (Guard Dog): Swing your axe and set a vicious dog
to stand guard for you!
Second Power (Attack Dog): Swing your axe and loose a Dog to
track down and kill the enemy!
RUNE_DEMETER Demeter
(Myth Set)
First Power (Trapped in Soda Bubbles): Get Perforator and shoots out
bubbles instead of nails. These can trap people and make them swim around
in the bubble.
Second Power (Drunkenness): Players around you will get drunk, if
the player is enemy it will take away from their health.
RUNE_COP Cop (Present
Set)
First Power (Arrest): When you shoot your enemy it randomly arrests
or takes away their weapons for a small amount of time
Second Power (Bullet Proof Vest): Like resistance, you take a smaller
amount of damage, and it gives off the effect that metal is flying off
your jacket.
RUNE_NAVY_OFFICER
Navy Officer (Present Set)
First Power (Rocket Regeneration): Your a navy officer so you get a
a grenade launcher, rocket launcher, and regenerating ammo! BUT all that
heavy equipment will make you slower
Second Power (Maximum Power): Swing your axe to shoot a huge party
of rockets! Don't stand too close to any objects!
RUNE_FPILOT Fighter
Pilot <flight> (Present Set)
First Power (Target Missiles): UNLIMITED homing missiles! use your
free rocket launcher, and your rockets will home in on the
enemy!
Second Power (Machine gun): Your super nailgun now shoots unlimited
small rockets that do more damage then nails.
RUNE_CWORKER Construction
Worker (Present Set 2)
First Power (Drill): Gives you Thunderbolt and regenerates cells. When
you fire, a Megabolt comes out and does Mega damage to enemies!
Second Power (Torch): Use your shotgun to shoot bubbles out at a very
rapid pace. Ammo is unlimited and does a fair amount of damage
RUNE_SUBZERO Sub
Zero (Mortal Kombat Set)
First Power (Freeze): Any weapon you shoot will shoot out a small bubble,
Which at random will freeze the enemy.
Second Power (Cold Clone): Swing your axe and you will leave a clone
where you stand! Anyone that comes near it will freeze for a while
allowing an easy gib for you!
RUNE_RAIDEN Raiden
(Mortal Kombat Set)
First Power (Lightning): Gives You lightning gun with regenerating
ammo. When you damage an enemy with it they will go flying!
Second Power (Superman Move): Swing your axe to fly like superman.
When you hit an enemy they get damaged and go the speed your flying!
RUNE_JOHNNY_CAGE
Johnny Cage (Mortal Kombat Set)
First Power (Shadow-Ram): Jonny Cage can use his body as a weapon and
throw himself at enemies! The Axe also triggers this attack.
Second Power (Green Fireball): Use your axe to throw a Green Fireball
it will bounce around and explode after a few seconds.
RUNE_KANO Kano
(Mortal Kombat Set)
First Power (Knife): Swing your axe to throw out your Glowing Knife,
it will bounce around and explode after a while.
Second Power (Cannonball): Swing your axe to curl up in a ball and
cannonball your enemies. Great with Quad Damage!
RUNE_KANG Liu
Kang (Mortal Kombat Set)
First Power (Fireball): Makes a fireball come out when you shoot any
of your weapons. Giving you a chance to catch the enemy on fire!
Second Power (Flying Kick): Swing your axe and you will do a flying
kick and damage your enemy immensely if you hit them.
RUNE_REPTILE Reptile
(Mortal Kombat II Set)
First Power (Acid): When you shoot any weapon you will spit out acid,
which will burn any enemies hit.
Second Power (Invisibility): Makes you completely invisible to everyone!
one drawback though, You take twice as much damage.
RUNE_LAO Kung
Lao (Mortal Kombat II Set)
First Power (Head Throw):Shoots out Flaming head with every shot, causing
greater damage.
Second Power (Whirlwind Spin): Swing your axe to Swing a lightning
bolt around, causing enemies to fly upwards and get damaged when the come
in contact with it.
RUNE_TSUNG Shang
Tsung (Mortal Kombat II Set)
First Power (Fireballs): Swing your axe to throw a huge amount of fireballs
in the direction your facing. enemies may even catch on fire if hit!
Second Power (Morph): Swing your axe and you will morph into a random
Mortal Kombat character for a few seconds!
RUNE_PORTAL_MASTER
Portal Master (Mortal Kombat II Set)
First Power (Portal): Swing your axe to open up a portal that once
walked through will warp you to a random part of the map. You can come
back through it also.
Second Power (Speed): Makes you run very fast! Which will help you
in many ways, BUT it is hard to control!
RUNE_SEKTOR Sektor
(Mortal Kombat III Set)
First Power (Homing missile): Swing your axe to throw UNLIMITED, slow
moving, heat seeking missiles! (2 at a time max!)
Second Power (TelePunch): Swing your axe,and you will Teleport to the
nearest player and punch them severely! They must be within 30 feet of
you.
RUNE_SMOKE Smoke
(Mortal Kombat III Set)
First Power (Harpoon): Grapple into an enemy and instead of you going
to them, they come to you!
Second Power (Smoke Block): Use any weapon to damage an enemy and you
will randomly place a large shroud in front of them making it very hard
for them to see (Be Careful it can backfire on you!)
RUNE_KINTARO Kintaro
(Mortal Kombat Misc Set)
First Power (Four Axe-Power): This ones pretty self explanatory,
just swing your axe and it has four times the power.
Second Power (Combo): Gives you a grenade launcher with regenerating
ammo, when fired shoots a grenade as well as a rocket. (A campers dream!)
RUNE_WEREWOLF
Werewolf (Darkages Set)
First Power (Speed-Bite): You are faster and you bite people when they
get too close to you.
Second Power (Howl): Use your axe to use the healing power Warewolf's
have. You will also scare everyone to the ceilings! HAHAHAHAHA!!
RUNE_DRAGON Dragon
(Darkages Set)
First Power (Flight): Hey some Dragons Flew, and now so can you!
Second Power (Fire): All your weapons shoot fire out as well as the
regular projectile. If your lucky you will catch enemies on fire!
RUNE_ZOMBIE Zombie
(Darkages Set)
First Power (Immunity): Hit an enemy, and there is a random chance
that you will turn them into a zombie. All they can do is throw Gibs back
at you.
Second Power (Gibfest): Use your axe to throw flaming gibs. These do
a lot of damage, and can send people flying backwards.
RUNE_VAMPIRE Vampire
(Darkages Set)
First Power (Vampire Bat): You are a blood sucking bat. You can fly,
and each enemy you shoot, you suck the life from, and add it to you.
Second Power (Vampire Vemon): You are infected with poison. Your Super
Nail Gun will now shoot venom and regenerate nails.
RUNE_FP Frankensteins
Pet (Darkages Set)
First Power (Lightning bolt): Swing your axe to throw a lightning bolt
at your enemies.
Second Power (Lavaball): Shoot unlimited Lavaballs when you swing your
axe. Be sure to to stand too close though!
RUNE_WATER Water
(Earth Set)
First Power (Water Aid): When your in water, you are totally invisible,
while regenerating health.
Second Power (Bring Water): You can now take that healing water with
you. And now when people are near you, the move as if there were in water.
RUNE_LIFE Life
(Earth Set)
First Power (Life Power): When you Die you will respawn in the same
exact spot, thus giving you a second chance at life. You weapons are also
more powerful then normal.
Second Power (Life-Shield): Gives you homing rockets that will hunt
down any enemy or projectile.
RUNE_DEATH Death
(Earth Set)
First Power (Death Power): The less health you have, the more resistant
and stronger you get.
Second Power (Zombie Creator): Randomly turns enemies into zombies
when you damage them. You can also throw your own gibs with your axe!
RUNE_SUPERMAN
Superman (Hero Set)
First Power (Strength): Any damage you do to an enemy will be doubled!
Plus you get to fly!
Second Power (Resistance): You will take 50% less damage! and of course
you get to fly as well!
RUNE_PUNISHER
Punisher (Hero Set)
1st Power (Dbl. Brl. Grenade Lnchr.): Gives you a grenade launcher
with regenerating ammo. When Fired Two grenades fire at once! but
the reload time is twice as slow.
Second Power (Shotgun Specialist): Lets you fire your shotgun at an
extremely fast pace!
RUNE_SPAWN Spawn
(Hero Set 2)
First Power (Healing): Automatically will regenerate your health and
armor to 150!
Second Power (Cape Protection): Reduces the damage you take by 50%
RUNE_WEAPONS Future
Weapons (Future set)
First Power (Spark Cannon): Your Shotgun is now a Spark Cannon.
Second Power (Controller Shield): You now have a futuristic shield
around you that blocks players off of you. It will damage them too.
RUNE_ROBOT Robot
(Future Set)
First Power (Strength): Attack an enemy and cause twice as much damage!
Second Power (Lasers): Gives you a Super nailgun that regenerates ammo
fairly fast. When fired it shoots lasers that do more damage then nails!
RUNE_THUNDER Thunder
(Storm Set)
First Power (Lightning Strike): Your Thunder Bolt is replaced with
a special Lightning Rod that regens cells.
Second Power (Rain): Use your axe to launch a clone into the sky. It
rains acid rain which damages the enemy.
RUNE_DREAM Dream
(Imaginary Set)
First Power (Rainbow): Gives you a Super Nailgun that regenerates ammo,
and shoots out a rainbow shotgun spray. 2nd Power (Double Barreled
Rockets): Swing your axe to shoot out 2 rockets at the same time!
RUNE_NIGHTMARE
Nightmare (Imaginary Set) First Power (Mind Melt Power): Anyone near
you will have their Mind Melted like they just got hit with the Mind gas
gun! It will damage them too!
Second Power (Clone Person): Swing your axe to leave a clone that fires
rockets in whatever direction you are facing. (2 Clones MAX!)
RUNE_POSSESSER
Possessor (Imaginary Set)
First Power (Possess): Hit an enemy with your axe and they will jump
around and shoot wildly.
Second Power (Rocketman): You will become a small flying rocket that
is immune to all liquids!
RUNE_TURTLE Turtle
(Animal Set)
First Power (Shell): You have a real strong shell. If you Hold absolutely
still, and don't shoot all attacks will only cost 1 point damage.
Second Power (Snapper): You have a powerful Turtle Mouth, and when
you swing your axe, you bite people.
RUNE_ANT Ant (Insect
Set)
First Power (Strong Jaw): You are and ant with a strong jaw! Swing
you axe and shoot Deadly Personbombs.
Second Power (Speed): Your a big ant you can now move twice as fast!
RUNE_MEDIC Medic
(CotC Set)
First Power (Healer): You have the power to heal your team, just by
standing nearby. Replenishes armor too.
Second Power (Plague): Axe fires a Plague Culture. Enemies nearby become
sick until they cure themselves in liquid, or it wears off.
RUNE_TARANTULA
Tarantula (CotC Set)
First Power (Poison Darts): You get a nailgun with some poisonous darts.
Hit the bad guys with this, they swell up.
Second Power (Trick-Traps): Tarantulas are masters at tricking their
enemy into consequences. Use your Axe to drop traps!
RUNE_ORGANDONOR
OrganDonor (CotC Set)
First Power (Napalm): You generate a field of fire! Enemies who enter
this field will burst into flames!
Second Power (TeamSpirit): Your whole team benefits whenever you pick
up health or ammo!
